Rock Clubs Barcelona
As I couldn't find much information on clubs or bars in Barcelona where they play Rock - Alternative, I'll put some here as I have it now (for the case someone needs and finds it).
The best place seems to be the area around the street Almogávers. There are many Rock places and rocky people. For example you find the famous disco Razzmatazz (Almogávers 122) there. Razzmatazz is a huge place with various (dance) floors. There are often live concerts of famous groups taking place. If not, they're playing different types of music on the different (two very huge and nicely decorated) dance floors (from Alternative to Techno). The entrance is 15 Euros (in october 06) or 12 Euros with a flyer whereby a drink is included. The prices of the drinks are not soo high (a small beer is 3,50). The people are quite mixed, but yesterday they were rather young. To get there, you take the metro 1 to the station Marina and so arrive in the street named above. To get home, you can take the metro that starts at 5 in the morning or the the nightbus N-0 that passes through c/ Marina (I think in the direction of both the center and up passing the Sagrada Familia).
If you want something more centric, smaller and less "rocky", you can go to the Jamboree situated on the Placa Real (besides the Ramblas) where they play Pop/Rock on the first floor (on the other floor they play disco music). There you pay 9 Euros of entrance without a drink and a bottle of beer is 5 Euros. Quite mixed and naturally rather international (touristic) people. Another (cheaper) option in the nice quarter of Gracia is the dance bar Alfa Rock (c/ Gran de Gràcia, 36). There you can enter for free (before a certain time, let's say 1) or for the cost of one drink more or less (about 4 Euros). It's nothing special, but quite crowded and good to dance (to Rock/Pop music).
Okay, that was all so far and if I find something more I will add it. If you found this information usefull, I would be pleased if you told me so in a commentary!

Am moving to Barcelona in the next week, wanted to find out more about any "rock" nightlife, found your article helpful :) Many thanks
Thank you, J - I'm very pleased! ob
There was another place just a couple of streets away from Razzamatazz which was pretty good. Went there sat night, I'll let you know what it was called when I remember. (There was a plane hanging from the roof!)
